Zedekiah's Cave
One of the most impressive natural site in Jerusalem is the Zedekiah's Cave. A 9000 Square Meters Secrets and Legends Beneath the Old City. This natural cave was used as a quarry for the stones used by Herrod for the construction of the Temple.
The legend tells us the the last King of Israel, Zedekiah, has fled from the Babilons through this cave that led all the way to the Judean Wilderness and as he was going out of the cave, 20 miles from Jerusalem, some soldiers that where hunting a deer,     arrested him and later blinded and killed him.
The Roman Plaza
A minute walk from the Zedekiah's Cave is the most impressive gate in the walls of the Old City, the Damascus Gate. Named after the Capital of Sirya. In Roman time this was the main entery to the walled city of Jerusalem and thus, the Roman built  an impressive gate and Plaza. In the excavations done in the last years impressive artifacts from the original Roman gate, and the plaza, were uncovered.
In arabic the name of the gate is Bab El Amud, meaning the gate of the Mile Stone. This was the point where the road distances from Jerusalem to other cities, where measured.
